Frequently asked questions
- What is the best image size for the Instagram feed?
- Instagram accepts images from 4:5 (portrait) to 1.91:1 (landscape), 320 to 1,440 pixels wide. Portrait 1080 × 1350 takes more screen space; square 1080 × 1080 also works.
- And for Stories and Reels?
- 9:16, that is 1080 × 1920 pixels. Keep important text away from the top and bottom edges, where the buttons are.
- What size is a YouTube thumbnail?
- YouTube recommends 16:9 at 3840 × 2160 pixels (at least 640 wide) for videos and 9:16 at 2160 × 3840 for Shorts, as JPG or PNG.
- Why don't X and LinkedIn have ready-made sizes?
- These networks don't publish an official recommended size. Use the custom size; Virio only shows numbers with an official source.
- Is my image sent to a server?
- No. Resizing happens in your browser; the image never leaves your device.
