Frequently asked questions
- What is UTM?
- Parameters at the end of the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign…) that tell Google Analytics where the visit came from.
- Which fields are required?
- Source, medium and campaign. Term and content are optional, useful to tell ads or versions of the same post apart.
- Why does the builder lowercase everything?
- Google Analytics is case-sensitive: 'Instagram' and 'instagram' become two sources. Standardizing avoids split reports.
- Does the link still work with UTM?
- Yes. The parameters are ignored by the page and only read by analytics tools. Parameters already in the link are kept.
